Hagia Sophia Majesty

Description

A wide angle view of the majestic interior of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. It was great to get this shot without the scaffolding often put up for restorative work. It was one of the earliest and largest Christian basilicas built but was converted to a mosque when Istanbul was conquered by the Turks. Much of the Christian art, images were removed or defaced. It is now a museum enjoyed by millions.
